If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.

It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.
“Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.
When there is a man who has labored with wisdom, knowledge and skill, then he gives his legacy to one who has not labored with them. This too is vanity and a great evil.
Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.
